I was just starting to get use to the idea that Ella was crawling and I would need to begin cleaning the corners of my house better, when the child pulled herself into a standing position. Of course, the first time I saw her pull off this little feat it was to bring herself closer to Fitz, who was napping on the bed. I am going to make placards for Fitz to wear with the ABC's on them. She loves that cat. If she can eat him, grab him, crawl over to him, she will. I am going to use her love to trick her into all sorts of things. Eating will be the first and then we will move her on to learning how to read. Poor Fitz he is going to have to live forever. No rest for the weary.
Just because Ella is able to stand does not mean that she knows how to sit back down. As you can imagine this throws a kink in her plans. She has a maneuver that sort of lowers herself down, but it still involves her falling to the floor at some point. It reminds me a lot of my roller rink days. I loved to roller skate, and though I could go in a circle pretty good, I never managed to learn how to stop on skates. Therefore, if I wanted to stop skating in a circle, I had to run into the roller rink wall. Ohh I can remember being torn between roller skating and a bruise from hitting the wall or no bruise but no roller skating. I, like Ella, kept choosing the bruise. Maybe I can teach Fitz to be a movable pillow for her.
Such a cutie - she must take after her mom!
